IEP Support
What is an IEP?
IEP is an acronym for “Individualized Education Plan.” This plan is meant to be a a support system to ensure that the student has the resources they need to thrive in a classroom environment.
How Can I Help?
IEP’s can be difficult to navigate at times. While dyslexia is more commonly known now and accommodations are more readily available, each dyslexic mind is unique and their needs and accommodations are unique as well. I have been working with struggling readers for 17 years, and for 6 of those years I have been working specifically with dyslexic students. I can help you as a parent understand the specific accommodations that your child needs and provide you with support during an IEP meeting to ensure that those accommodations are granted. I can listen to the teachers and other specialists in the meeting and gather information from them about what area’s your child needs to greatest support in.
The Process:
Please get in touch with me using the contact form below. We will have a discussion over the phone or Zoom where I will gather information from you and then we can decide what tier of support would be best for your child.
Full Support: $150
This tier of support includes a full overview of your child’s current IEP, a one hour coaching session with me, and then me attending your child’s IEP meeting. Since I work with students all over the country I usually attend an IEP meeting virtually. I haven’t had a school that has a problem with this, but if it should prove to be an issue we will problem solve.
Partial Support: $75
This tier of support includes ONE of the following:
A review of your child’s IEP with recommendations for supports that can be added or adjusted.
A one hour coaching session where I offer guidance on your child’s IEP and help you prep for an IEP meeting.
Attendance at your child’s IEP meeting where I listen in and offer input for adjustments that could be made or provide clarification on questions regarding dyslexia. Since I work with students all over the country I usually attend an IEP meeting virtually. I haven’t had a school that has a problem with this, but if it should prove to be an issue we will problem solve.
Disclaimer: I provide support to families, but I am not an attorney and I do not offer legal advice or practice law. If you are in a dispute with the school over your child’s IEP then you will need to reach out to special education law attorney.
